History of Europe Marine
The beginnings
Manfred Nürnberger built his first steel cabin boat in Mainz-Gonsenheim, converting a lifeboat. In the years that followed, he built further steel vessels – laying the foundations for the company as we know it today.
Foundation of the company “Sportboote Nürnberger”
Sale of canoes, kayaks, inflatable boats, outboard motors, as well as sailing boats and rowing boats. In addition, the company is developing its own range of canoes and kayaks.
Our first in-house jetty
In Heidenfahrt am Rhein, the first jetty with 12 berths is being built – an important step forward in terms of service and customer care.
Handover to the second generation
Peter and Robert Nürnberger take over the company. The firm is now trading as “Boote und Yachten Nürnberger GbR” and is continuing to expand its motorboat import business.
Growth with Bayliner
Sales of the American motorboat brand Bayliner become a key driver of growth for the company. During this period, the business establishes itself as a major dealer in motorboats both regionally and internationally.
New headquarters
Move to the new company premises in Budenheim, at the Auf der Bein site.
Foundation of Europe Marine
The existing company is being transformed into Europe Marine Großhandels GmbH. At the same time, the boat sales business is being further expanded and the Hechtenkaute site is being developed.
Launch of the Viper own brand
In response to changes in the market, Europe Marine has launched the development of its own range of motorboats under the Viper Powerboats brand. What began as a response to a gap in the market has grown into a cornerstone of the company – new models are still being developed and produced to this day.
A fresh start after the fire
Following a fire at the exhibition, a new hall is being built. At the same time, a partnership begins with Genmar Boats (Glastron), Quicksilver and Four Winns.
Expansion of our own boat production
The production hall in Hechtenkaute is being expanded. During this period, several of the company’s own models in the Viper series are being developed.
Expansion of online marketing
Under the leadership of Sybille Nürnberger, online marketing is being significantly expanded and is developing into a key sales channel for the company.
Major expansion of the Budenheim site
With the extension of the showroom on Budenheimer Parkallee, the site has almost tripled in size. Customers can now view a significantly wider range of boats on site. At the same time, the French brand Jeanneau has been added to the portfolio.
Launch of the Auster Boats own brand
Europe Marine is expanding its in-house boat design capabilities and is launching Auster Boats, a new own-brand range of high-quality motorboats. Production takes place at the Budenheim site.
Growth despite the pandemic
During the coronavirus pandemic, the water sports industry has experienced a significant boom. For Europe Marine, these have been the most successful financial years since the company was founded.
The third generation
The company becomes Europe Marine Großhandels GmbH & Co. KG. With Tristan and Yanick Nürnberger, the third generation takes over the management of the business.
